We will put a 1-7 day programme together that is specific to your school’s needs.  We cater for Year 5 through to Year 14. We do not run ‘set camp programmes’.  Discussions with the Centre’s staff will ensure that your school is clear about their expected outcomes and requirements for their stay at Makahika, and we will then personalise the activities programme for your group.  We can accommodate special needs children within the programmes.  Flexibility is the aim to meeting the needs of a variety of age-groups.

Your experience can be made up of some of the following activities:

  1. BulletOrienteering

  2. BulletTube raft building

  3. BulletAbseiling

  4. BulletRock Climbing

  5. BulletBlind-man’s bluff –a lane of rope in the bush you have to follow but beware it has twists and turns! (night activity)

  6. BulletFlying Fox – an awesome 170 metre flying fox ride, fully harnessed, one of the longest around

  7. BulletLow ropes course constructed by Project Adventure and includes a number of fun and challenging team building activities

  8. BulletLeap of Faith (Pamper pole) – a 14-metre high pole you climb up, stand at the top and then dive for the trapeze.  Constructed by Project Adventure.

  9. BulletHorizontal Beam – 14-metre high walk beam + other high rope components (from year 5 through to year 12 students)

  10. BulletBush walks – gentle, or the more advanced

  11. BulletStar watching and astronomy – night activity
